Payment methods

When you review an invoice draft, the Payment section is where you set how the client will pay and, for some methods, by when. This page is a reference for every payment method kweno.app offers on an invoice, the payment-term presets, the split-payment (MPP) option, and where the defaults come from. You choose these values while editing a draft in the Invoice dialog — see Invoices & KSeF for the full invoice lifecycle.

Payment methods

The Payment method field is a select shown in the Payment section of a draft invoice. It offers exactly these seven options:

Label When to use it
Cash The client pays in cash.
Card The client pays by payment card.
Voucher The client pays with a voucher.
Check The client pays by check.
Credit The client pays on credit.
Transfer The client pays by bank transfer.
Mobile The client pays by a mobile payment.

Note

The labels are exactly Check and Mobile — not "Cheque" or "Mobile payment". Match the wording in the app when you pick a method.

The method you see selected by default when a draft opens comes from your default payment method in settings (see Defaults below).

What changes when you pick a method

The rest of the Payment section adapts to the method you choose:

  • Payment due (the payment term) appears only for Transfer and Check.
  • The Bank and Account number fields appear only for Transfer.
  • The Split payment checkbox appears only for Transfer, and only when you are an active VAT payer.

Switching the method away from Transfer clears the Split payment checkbox automatically.

Payment due

When the payment method is Transfer or Check, a Payment due select appears. It sets the payment term and offers these presets:

Preset Meaning
7 days Payment due 7 days after the issue date.
14 days Payment due 14 days after the issue date.
30 days Payment due 30 days after the issue date.
60 days Payment due 60 days after the issue date.

Once you set a term, the app shows a computed Payment due date read-out equal to the issue date plus the number of days you chose. If you leave Payment due empty, the payment due date is the issue date itself.

Note

Payment due is shown only for Transfer and Check. For every other method (Cash, Card, Voucher, Credit, Mobile) there is no payment term to set.

In read-only mode (an issued invoice), the payment summary repeats Payment method, and for Transfer and Check it also shows the Payment due value.

Split payment (MPP)

The Split payment checkbox is the mechanizm podzielonej płatności (MPP). It appears only when both conditions are met:

  • the payment method is Transfer, and
  • you are an active VAT payer.

When the method is Transfer, the Bank (bank name) and Account number (your bank account) fields are also shown, so the client can make the transfer.

In read-only mode, the payment summary shows Split payment: Yes or No for a transfer invoice issued by a VAT payer.

The PLN 15,000 warning

If you are a VAT payer and the invoice's total gross value is PLN 15,000 or more, an amber banner appears at the top of the draft:

Split payment banner

'The gross amount of the invoice exceeds PLN 15,000 — check whether the invoice is subject to the split payment mechanism (MPP).'

This banner is advisory only. It does not block you from issuing the invoice, and it does not tick the Split payment checkbox for you — it is a reminder to check whether MPP applies and, if it does, to enable Split payment yourself.

Defaults

You do not have to set the payment method and term on every invoice by hand. The method that is pre-selected on a new draft, and the payment term proposed with it, come from your default payment settings:

  • Payment method defaults to your configured default (out of the box this is Transfer).
  • Payment due date default (used when the method is Transfer or Check) is your configured default term, which starts at 7 days.

These defaults live with your business data. To change them, open Business data and adjust the default Payment method and Payment due date. Any invoice you generate afterwards starts from the new defaults; you can still override the method and term on each individual draft.

  • Invoices & KSeF — where you review a draft and set the payment method, term, and split payment.
  • Business data — where the default payment method and due term are configured.
